drive home

Here is a new painting I just finished today. Its from a photo I took on the drive home from Nevada last year. I pulled over on the side of the road and took the picture from the car because I loved that bright little puff of cloud against all the dark ones. Luckily a truck didn't hit us either...oil on panel, 18"x10"

snowy

I was watching the film Baraka tonight while I was getting ready to start painting and about 3 shots in, there was a great pan up the side of this mountain. The composition of that shot inspired this painting. For anyone who hasn't seen it, Baraka is one of the finest films I have ever seen. Every frame is beautifully composed, and the imagery is astounding. This is another one in the sketchbook..
